10 Easy Crafts to Personalize Your School Supplies and Make Them Unique

1. Rainbow Notebook Cover

You will need:

  • Notebook
  • Colored pencils
  • Clear adhesive tape
  • Acrylic paint
  • Eraser

How to do it:

  • Paint the notebook using different colors.
  • Once you’re done, cover your entire drawing with clear adhesive tape, making sure to cover the entire surface
  • Using acrylic paint, paint over the clear adhesive tape.
  • Once the acrylic paint has dried, erase to reveal the hidden design.
  • You can erase random areas, create a shape, or write a word.

2. Customized Stapler

You will need:

  • Acrylic paint
  • Plastic eyes
  • Magnet

How to do it:

  • On the top and bottom of the stapler, paint white triangles to resemble teeth.
  • Attach a plastic eye to each side of the top part.
  • If your work surface is metallic, you can attach a magnet to the base to keep it handy and secure.

3. Rainbow Highlighter Marker

You will need:

  • Small glass bottle
  • Cotton
  • Colored markers
  • Highlighter marker
  • Hot glue

How to do it:

  • Place a piece of cotton inside the bottle and dye it using the ink from a marker.
  • Insert another piece of cotton and dye it using a different color.
  • Repeat this process until the bottle is completely filled.
  • Remove the tip from the highlighter marker and place it in the mouth of the bottle, filling the remaining space with hot glue to secure the tip in place.

4. Ice Cream Pencil Case

You will need:

  • Fabric
  • Colored pom-poms
  • Cord
  • Transparent plastic glass or cup
  • EVA Foam
  • Hot Glue Gun

How to do it:

  • Attach the colored pom-poms to the fabric using the hot glue gun.
  • Fold the top of the fabric a few centimeters and glue it down as well
  • Thread the cord through the fold and glue a pom-pom to each end.
  • Create lines on the EVA foam to visually mimic the texture of an ice cream cone.
  • Insert the EVA foam piece inside the glass or cup, glue it in place, and then glue the fabric to the EVA foam.

5. Glue Eraser

You will need:

  • Pencil
  • Hot Glue Gun

How to do it:

  • Apply a dot of hot glue to the eraser end of the pencil and start turning it in circles around the dot, creating a raised spiral pattern.
  • Allow it to dry thoroughly.
  • Use it to erase just like you would use a regular eraser.

6. Hamburger-shaped Pencil Sharpener

You will need:

  • Pencil sharpener
  • Circular plastic container
  • Hot glue gun
  • Colored foam sheets

How to do it:

  • Using the nozzle of the hot glue gun, create a hole in the base of the plastic container.
  • Attach the pencil sharpener inside, aligning the hole of the container with the one on the sharpener.
  • On the colored foam sheets, draw and cut out the different ingredients of a hamburger: meat patty, lettuce, tomato, and cheese.
  • Measure the circumference of your container and cut a circle in the middle of each foam ingredient, all the same size.
  • Place the container inside the foam and secure everything with hot glue.

7. School Calendar

You will need:

  • White card stock
  • Colored sticky notes
  • Picture frame

How to do it:

  • Arrange the colored sticky notes on the white card stock in a grid with seven columns for the days of the week and five rows down, creating a total of 35 squares.
  • Once the sticky notes are in place and dry, insert the card stock into the picture frame.
  • Use a chalk marker to write on the glass surface of the frame, and you can easily erase and rewrite whenever needed.

8. Notebook Pencil Case

You will need:

  • Hardcover notebook
  • Rubber bands

How to do it:

  • Place the rubber bands vertically along the top edge of your hardcover notebook.
  • You can use the outer side to hold your school supplies and the inner side for attaching sticky notes to take notes.

9. Glam Pen

You will need:

  • Pen
  • Drinking straws
  • Feathers
  • Hot glue gun

How to do it:

  • Remove the tip and ink from the pen and insert it into the drinking straw.
  • Create a circle with hot glue at the base of the tip to support the straw.
  • Glue the connection between the pen tip and the straw.
  • Seal the back end of the straw with hot glue, and while it’s still slightly damp, insert feathers into it.

10. Plastic Pencil Case

You will need:

  • Plastic bottle
  • Zipper
  • Cutter

How to do it:

  • About three or four fingers, from the base of the bottle, encircle the bottle with the zipper.
  • Secure the zipper in place, making sure not to glue the closure part.
  • Allow it to dry completely before opening the zipper and cutting the bottle.
  • You can paint or decorate the bottle however you like to add a unique and personalized touch.
