5 Creative Ways to Turn Bottles Into Lights
Bottles seem to multiply and become quite a presence in our lives. But instead of just drinking whatever liquid comes in them and discarding them, there are several ways to make them bring light into our life. 5-Minute Crafts will show you some of these.
Glass bottles
1. Light kit
What you’ll need:
- An empty bottle that you think is cool
- A bottle lamp kit, found in hardware stores
- A shade
- A light bulb
2. Fairy light or Christmas light bottle
What you’ll need:
- Empty glass bottles
- String lights or Christmas lights
How to do it:
- Wash the bottles.
- Place the lights inside the bottle.
- Turn on your DIY lamp.
3. Lava lamp
What you’ll need:
- A jar for mixing
- Glass bottle
- Highlighter pen
- Oil
- Aspirin
- Fill the jar with water.
- Place the highlighter pen inside and let the ink run into the water.
- Funnel the inky water into a glass bottle.
- Fill the rest of the bottle with oil.
- Place the aspirin inside.
- The aspirin will create the lava lamp effect. Increase it by placing a light under the bottle.
Plastic bottles
1. DIY Clouds
What you’ll need:
- Plastic bottle
- LED strip lights
- Cotton wool
- Hot glue
- Get your plastic bottle and place the LED strip inside
- Gradually spread hot glue on the bottle and place the cotton wool on it. Do it in parts.
- Turn the light on and there’s your cloud.
2. Spoon lamp
What you’ll need:
- Plastic bottle
- Plastic spoons
- Scissors
- Hot glue
- Lamp kit
- Cut your bottle to the desired length.
- Cut the spoons with the scissors, leaving only the spoon part.
- Glue them tightly around the bottle, starting from the top
- Once you have your DIY lamp shade, pass the lamp kit wire through the bottle cap.
- Install it wherever you want.
