8 Creative Crafts to Furnish the Living Room of Your Dream Dollhouse

1. Stools

You will need:

  • Metal soda cap
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Paint and paintbrush
  • Hot glue

How to do it:

  • Cut the popsicle sticks in half.
  • Apply hot glue to the inside of the metal soda cap and attach the sticks to it.
  • Once the glue is dry, paint everything in the desired color.

2. Hallway furniture

You will need:

  • Balsa wood
  • Wooden dowels
  • Paint
  • Hot glue

How to do it:

  • Paint the balsa wood in the desired color.
  • Cut two rectangles and four smaller rectangular pieces whose length matches the width of the main rectangles.
  • Vertically glue the smaller pieces to one of the rectangles and attach the other rectangle on top.
  • Glue two skewers as legs in both corners.

3. Table lamp

You will need:

  • Straw
  • Dropper cap
  • Hot glue

How to do it:

  • Cut a drinking straw and attach a button to its base.
  • Attach the bottle cap to the other end.
  • Let it dry thoroughly.

4. Bookshelf

You will need:

  • Wooden ruler or balsa wood
  • Paint
  • Hot glue
  • Silicone tubes

How to do it:

  • Cut the ruler or balsa wood into equal pieces.
  • Paint them in the desired color.
  • Horizontally attach them to the silicone tubes at each corner.
  • Let it dry thoroughly.

5. TV stand

You will need:

  • Styrofoam tray
  • Matchboxes
  • Hot glue

How to do it:

  • Cut two rectangles from the polyethylene tray, the size of four matchboxes, placed side by side vertically.
  • Glue the four matchboxes onto one of the polyethylene rectangles, one next to the other vertically, and place another line of matchboxes on top of this first line, totaling eight.
  • Place the other polyethylene rectangle on top.
  • Join the matchboxes in groups of two, covering them with polyethylene rectangles, making sure they can be opened and closed, and let them dry.

6. Television

You will need:

  • Makeup box or any plastic box
  • TV printout
  • Nail polish
  • Paperclip
  • Glue

How to do it:

  • Glue the TV image onto the box.
  • Add buttons using nail polish.
  • Place the paper clip at the bottom and remove its front metal hook, the back one will bend backward and help keep the box upright, acting as a stand.

7. Ceiling lamp

You will need:

  • Water balloon
  • 3D pen
  • String

How to do it:

  • Inflate and tie the balloon.
  • Begin covering it with 3D paint, first creating a bottom edge, then completing the entire balloon with lines of crossed and abstract shapes.
  • Tie it to the string, as if it were the lamp’s cord, and hang it in the desired location.

8. Dining table

You will need:

  • Metal lid
  • Small disposable plastic cup
  • Paint
  • Hot glue

How to do it:

  • Paint the metal cap in the desired color.
  • Attach the mouth of a small disposable plastic cup, also painted in the desired color, to the bottom of the cap.
  • Glue the bottom of another painted cup to the bottom of the cup attached to the cap.
