8 Step-by-Step Craft Decor for a Super Mario Bros. Room Makeover

1. Mario Mirror

What you’ll need:

• Circular Mirror

• Let it dry and use acrylic paint to add details, the dividing line of the cap’s visor, and the logo with Mario’s “M”.

2. “Grass” Chaise Longue

What you’ll need:

• Green fabric
• Cushions
• White felt
• Stapler and fabric glue

How to do it:

• Fold the fabric to create a rectangle with two layers.
• Place a cushion in the center of the two fabric layers and close the top and bottom by sewing, stapling, or using fabric glue.
• Just below, place another cushion, repeating the same procedure until you’ve placed a total of four cushions.
• Finally, cut white felt circles and use fabric glue to attach them all over the chaise longue.

3. Rainbow Rug

What you’ll need:

• Colored float tubes
• Glue

How to do it:

• Start by creating an oval shape by attaching two float tubes together.
• Then, fill the interior by placing more float tube ovals inside and gluing them to the outer walls.
• Finally, when the central space is nearly closed, place just one float tube.

4. Piranha Plant Lights

What you’ll need:

• Cardboard egg cartons
• Paints
• Decorative string lights

How to do it:

• Cut out each compartment for an egg from the egg carton.
• Paint them in different colors and let them dry.
• Make a hole in the center of each compartment to insert a light.
• Put a light through each hole until the entire string is covered.

• Iron
• Small flowerpot
• Hot glue gun

How to do it:

• Arrange the beads on the bead template to create the carnivorous plant design.
• Once the design is complete, iron over it to melt and fuse the beads together.
• Once cooled, attach the design to the flowerpot using a hot glue gun.

What you’ll need:

• Boxes
• Yellow paper or paint
• White paper

How to do it:

• Cover or paint each box with yellow.
• On the white paper, draw a question mark and cut it out.
• Glue it in the center of the front face of each box.

7. Mushroom Lamp

What you’ll need:

• Two transparent plastic bowls, one round and one cubic
• Sticker paper
• Paint
• Lights

How to do it:

• Trace and cut circles on the sticker paper and stick them on the inside of the transparent round bowl.
• Paint over them and once the paint has dried, carefully remove them.
• Paint the cubic container in white as well.
• Once it’s dry, insert the lights inside and place the transparent round bowl on top as a lid.

8. Brick Wall

What you’ll need:

• Rectangular Sponge
• Paint

How to do it:

• Dip the sponge into the paint and press it against the wall.
• For every two horizontal rectangles, paint one above and below the joint of both.
• Continue painting until you complete the area you wish to decorate.
