From Old Doll to a Modern and Cool Bestie for Your Child Step-by-Step
Do you have an old doll at home? Learn how to transform an old doll into a modern and cool princess. We will demonstrate step by step how easy it can be, providing you with easy-to-follow instructions and clever tips along the way. Whether you’re an experienced doll enthusiast or just starting out, you will love this project.
1. We will start by removing all the accessories and clothing from our doll
2. We will wash it thoroughly with water and soap, using a toothbrush to scrub the dirtiest and hard-to-reach areas
3. If there are sticky spots in the hair, we can remove them with ice, and marker stains with nail polish remover, acetone, or alcohol
4. As a first modern detail, we’ll add a decorative gemstone to the forehead by applying a drop of hot glue to the center of her forehead and attaching the gemstone on top
5. We will comb and thoroughly dry her hair to make it soft, voluminous, and fluffy again
6. We can add some removable color extensions; you can put as many as you want and choose any color you prefer. Trim them to match her hair length and cut off any excess or damaged hair if necessary
7. To add volume back to her eyelashes, we will attach some false eyelashes. Measure her eye, cut the eyelash to this size, and glue it to the lash line of her eyelashes
8. If her eyelashes are worn out or very light, define them by drawing each one with a permanent marker
9. Give her lips some color using nail polish or permanent marker. To add a touch of shine, you can apply a coat of clear nail polish as a final touch
10. Carefully paint the nails on both her hands and feet with a bright and shiny nail polish color
11. To add a modern and fun touch, you can draw some tattoos with a permanent marker or apply temporary tattoos. Keep in mind that the temporary tattoos might wear off more quickly with use
12. As a final touch, you can add some piercings and jewelry. Whether it’s in the nose or ears, the piercings will give her a really cool look
13. To create her clothing, simply place the doll on a piece of fabric and trace her body with a marker. Cut out the piece and use it as a template to cut out another piece. Sew the sides together, leaving openings for the head and limbs.
