How to Dye Your T-Shirt With Bleach
Simple bleach doesn’t just make clothes white, but can also make them look really special. Just don’t limit your imagination during the creative process.
We at 5-Minute Crafts want to show you how you can use regular bleach to dye a T-shirt and make it unique.
Before you start

Put on rubber gloves: your skin shouldn’t come into contact with the bleach.

In order not to let the image made on the front part of the T-shirt appear on the back, put a sheet of thick cardboard inside the T-shirt.
1. Spiral patterns
You need:

Dark T-shirt

Fork
-
3-4 rubber bands

Bleach
How to do it: Place a regular fork into the center of the T-shirt and start wrapping the fabric around the fork. Put the rubber bands on top.
Then, pour some bleach on the T-shirt. Let the fabric dry. Done!
Tip: Try folding the T-shirt in different ways to get different patterns.
2. Writing
What you need:

Bleach in a sprayer
How to do it: Take the letters and place them on your T-shirt. Make a phrase or a word. Then, spray the T-shirt with bleach and let the fabric dry. Remove the letters. Done!
3. Heart shapes
What you need:

Black T-shirt

A piece of felt
-
Scissors
-
Glue
-
Plastic bottle cap

Bleach in a deep bowl
How to do it: Cut out a felt heart. On one side, glue the plastic bottle cap to make a stamp. Dip it into the bleach. Touch the T-shirt. Be creative with the locations. Let the fabric dry. Done!
4. Template pictures
What you need:

Black T-shirt

Template made of paper

Bleach in a sprayer
How to do it: Stick the template to the shirt. Spray it with bleach. Remove the template and let the fabric dry. Done!
5. A collar made of a napkin
What you need:

Black T-shirt

White napkin or doily with patterns

Bleach in a sprayer
How to do it: Put the napkin up to the collar, like the photo above shows. Spray it with bleach and let it dry. Remove the napkin. Done!
6. Heart with rays
What you need:

A cardboard heart-shaped cutout

Q-tips

How to do it: Put the heart-shaped cutout on the chest of the T-shirt. Place the Q-tips around it. Spray it all with bleach and let the fabric dry. Remove everything from the fabric. Done!
7. Geometric lines
What you need:

Black T-shirt

Masking tape

Bleach in a sprayer
How to do it: Chaotically place the tape on the T-shirt. Spray the fabric with bleach and let it dry. Remove the pieces of tape. Done!
8. Mesh
What you need:

Black T-shirt

Lace
-
Bleach
How to do it: Place the lace on the edge of the shirt and start rolling the fabric from the bottom up. The more wrinkles you have, the better.
Now, pour some bleach on the fabric and let it dry. Remove the lace and it’s all done!
9. Tools
What you need:

Different tools
-

How to do it: Chaotically place the tools and other things on the fabric. Spray it with bleach and let it dry. Done!
10. Hands
What you need:

Black T-shirt or shirt
-
Cotton and rubber gloves
-
Bleach in a deep bowl
How to do it: Put the cotton gloves on top of the rubber ones and dip them in bleach. Touch the fabric in different spots. Let it dry. Done!
11. Triangles
What you need:

Black T-shirt or shirt

Triangle made of felt

Wine bottle cork

Glue

Bleach in a bowl
How to do it: Using glue, stick the cork to the triangle to make a stamp. Dip the cork into the bleach and touch the T-shirt. Place the stamps in different spots. Let the fabric dry. Done!
12. Dots
What you need:

Jeans

Q-tips
-
Bleach in a bowl
How to do it: Dip a Q-tip in bleach and touch the denim. Let it dry. Done! There doesn’t have to be any order to how you place the dots.
13. Beautiful stains
What you need:

The clothes you’re going to dye
-
Ice trays
-
Water
-
Bleach
-
Container
How to do it: Mix bleach with a little bit of water. Pour the mix into ice trays and freeze. Place the clothes into a container and put the cubes on top. Leave it for an hour.
Take the clothes out and let them dry: you should see some nice-looking stains.
14. Interesting design
What you need:

Clothes
-
Brush
-
Sponge
-
Fabric dye
-
Bleach
How to do it: Dip the brush in bleach and sprinkle the clothes you’re going to dye. The more sprinkles and drops there are, the more interesting the design. Let the clothes dry and add the fabric dye.
Using the brush, you can control the color intensity and saturation. Let the fabric dry and it’s done!
