Materials needed

  • Canvas
  • Paints
  • Piping bags
  • Painting spatula
  • Cotton swabs

1. Begin by painting the canvas black and prepare the paint by placing various shades of marine colors, such as white, sky blue, and different shades of blue, into a piping bag

2. Cut the tip of the bag and apply diagonal lines of paint to one of the upper corners of the canvas, spreading them with the help of a painting spatula, until they cover the canvas to the opposite lower corner

3. In the two lower corners, apply circles of darker paint tones to create a visual stone effect

4. Using a piping bag with orange paint, trace a simple fish silhouette, fill it in, add a darker center line for shadows, and blend the colors with the spatula

5. Next, following the same technique as before, let’s design some octopuses. If they are very small, and it’s challenging to blend their colors with the spatula, use a cotton swab

6. Once again, we will put into practice the technique of outlining, filling, shading, and blending colors, but this time to outline jellyfish shapes

7. By drawing simple lines in the background, resembling branches, we will create the effect of seaweed

8. Additionally, add some small dots of loose paint in various colors to simulate coral flora

9. Vary the colors and shapes, and besides the dots, also include groups of small rock-like lines connected at their base

10. As a final touch, add bubbles by placing small white dots distributed throughout the canvas
