How to Make a Christmas Wreath
Christmas is just around the corner and most people have already started decorating their houses. If you are one of those people who want their decorations to be one of a kind, then in this article, you can find instructions on how to create your very own DIY decorations.
5-Minute Crafts will show you a step-by-step guide on how to make a Christmas wreath from scratch because outdoor decorations are as important as indoor ones.
What you’ll need to make the perfect Christmas wreath
First of all, you need to gather all the necessary supplies. You’d be surprised by how many useful things you might find from just a simple walk in the woods. For example, fallen leaves and foliage will turn out to be very useful for this homemade wreath. You will also have to pay a visit to your local florist shop.
The supplies you will need are the following:
- A wreath wire ring
- Reel wire or twine
- Moss
- Scissors
- Foliage
- Thick ribbon
- Decorations of your choice (red berries, pine needles, Christmas ribbons, cinnamon sticks)
Step 1
Attach a bunch of moss on the wreath frame by using reel wire or, alternatively, twine to create a compact and full base. Continue the same way until the whole frame is covered with moss, as shown in the pictures above.
Step 2
Take bundles of foliage and the leaves you have gathered and attach them to your frame using the wire or the twine accordingly. Make sure to cover the whole frame and not leave any gaps.
Step 3
Attach the ribbon to your frame. Make it long enough so that you can hang it on your door. You can even try it on your door to see if it fits right before you cut the ribbon.
Step 4
Your Christmas wreath is almost ready! Time to attach your decorations. Feel free to get creative in this phase. You can attach red berries, pine, Christmas ribbon, or cinnamon sticks, using wire or twine. Make sure you secure your decorations on the back of the frame placing the wire directly on the moss and the foliage, twisting it.
