1. Cornmeal: A good way to make homemade litter is to use some cornmeal. It’s biodegradable and, on top of that, when it comes in contact with cat litter, it forms solid lumps, which makes it way easier to clean the litter box.

However, it’s recommended to add a teaspoon of baking soda in order to prevent bad odor from escaping.

2. Wheat: Buy ground wheat or wheat grains and grind them. Ideally, they should not be too fine. Put everything in the sandbox and add baking soda to help reduce the odor. You can also add a little cornmeal or cassava flour.

3. Cassava flour: Mix cornmeal with cassava flour and place everything in the sandbox. This will adhere to the cat’s waste, forming blocks to make cleaning easier.

Note: Make sure your pet does not want to eat the mixture. If you notice that this happens, use another option.
