So, grab your backpack, gather ’round the campfire, and let’s dive into the world of useful camping accessories with aluminum foil, your key to an extraordinary outdoor journey!
1. A foil camping house
To build this house, you’ll need several aluminum foil rolls. The place you pick to build it, should be surrounded by trees, since you’ll be wrapping the foil around the trees and the size of your house will depend on how far or close are the trees to each other.
Building the walls:
- Once you choose the right spot, wrap the foil around the trunk of the trees
- Raise the aluminum foil halfway up the tree trunks
Set a roof and a door:
- Close the top part of the house with more foil
- Cut one of the walls opening a door for the house
2. A comfortable hammock
How to do it:
- Roll the aluminum foil into a long, thick rope
- Wrap the aluminum rope around the trunk of a tree, making sure it’s tight
- Wrap the other edge of the rope to a trunk tree on the opposite side
- Surround the trunk of the tree, leaving two parallel lines of aluminum rope and a space in between the two
- Cover the middle space, wrapping the foil horizontally
3. Cooking tools
A salt shaker:
- Put slat in a plastic cup
- Cover the top of the cup with foil paper
- Using a toothpick, make holes on the foil
A pot to cook on a wood stove:
- Bend your knee and put a piece of foil on it
- Push the foil on your knee and wrap the sides in
It’s a water and fire resistant pot, that you can use on a wood stove
A cooking spatula:
- Fold in a sheet of foil paper, several times
- Tear a bit of each side, of the upper part of the folded paper
- Fold the sides inward, from the torn part down
4. Protection for your shoes
Keep your shoes clean when walking on muddy trails while camping. Use aluminum foil to wrap your shoes, up to your heels, and remove it when you’re done walking.
