15 Fun snack ideas for your kids

If your children get bored with the usual food, and you go crazy trying to come out with new ideas, take note of these creative ways of giving your whole family tasty meals. Whether you’re a busy parent on the go or simply looking to add some excitement to your child’s routine, these options will not only satisfy your little one’s cravings, but also make snack time much more appealing.

1. Fruitilicius yogurt popsicles

Put some pieces of fruit and cereal inside a yogurt cup. Then insert a lollipop in it, leaving the stick outside. Freeze it and then unmold it when you’re ready to enjoy it.

2. Turn apples into a joyful meal

  • Chop off two sides of the apple and use them as a base to put slices of other fruits on them, so they end up looking as a hamburger.
  • Take another apple, cut the pulp into sticks to simulate fries, and use the outside of the apple to serve, as a fries container.

3. Caramel bananas

  • Roll the bananas over a mix of cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • Bake them until they look golden brown.
  • Insert a stick into the banana, to enjoy.


4. Silly face for breakfast

  • Remove the pulp of a tomato slice using a cookie cutter.
  • Use the ring that’s left as a mold for frying eggs.
  • Serve the fried tomato eggs as the eyes of a silly face on your kid’s plate.

5. Grilled pasta skewers

  • Insert several rigatoni through a wooden stick.
  • Top them with sauce, vegetables and cheddar cheese.
  • Bake until the cheese is melted.

6. Watermelon pizza

Decorate a thick round slice of watermelon with several types of fruit slices, making circles from the center to the outside. When finished covering the watermelon, cut it into triangle shaped slices.

7. Rainbow pancakes

  • Put some food coloring into your traditional pancake mix and stir well.
  • Make one mix for each color of the rainbow you want.
  • Cook them on a pan and top your tower of pancakes with syrup.

8. Egg and bread in one

  • Put a slice of bread on a hot pan.
  • Push a mug facing down on the bread, to get a circle shape.
  • Flip the bread and crack an egg on it.
  • Cook with the lid on until the white is cooked.

9. Quick cheese omelette

  • Crack and egg. Put the white in a bowl and the yolk in another.
  • Stir the yolk.
  • Add green onion to the bowl with the white.
  • Heat a pan and pour both bowls into it.
  • Add some cheese on top and then roll.

10. Pizza chunks

  • Place some pizza dough on a mold with several holes.
  • Put cherry tomatoes, pepperoni and cheese on each hole.
  • Cover that with another coat of dough and flatten with a rolling pin.
  • Take each piece of dough out of the holes and cook them on a pan.

11. Super cheese tortilla

  • Put a tortilla on a waffle maker.
  • Add spinach, tomato and cheese over one half of it.
  • Close the tortilla and then the waffle maker.
  • Cook for a couple of minutes and enjoy extra cheese on each bite.

12. Microwave egg muffin

  • Crack two eggs inside a mug.
  • Add sausage, cheese and milk.
  • Stir to mix well and add some green onion.
  • Microwave for a few minutes.

13. Easy pizza for breakfast

  • Put a tortilla on a hot pan.
  • Add stirred eggs and cover with salami and herbs.
  • Cook on both sides and serve.

14. Peach doughnuts

  • Cut rings of peach.
  • Dip them into doughnut batter mix.
  • Cover them with whole oatmeal or cereal, and bake.
  • Serve with whip cream on top.

15. Chocolate strawberry sandwich

Put small chocolate bars and slices of strawberries in between two slices of bread. Microwave them until the chocolate is melted and enjoy.
