You will need:

  • A saucepan

  • A cutting board

  • A knife

  • A hand blender

Ingredients

  • 17 ounces of chicken liver

  • 1 big carrot

  • 1 onion bulb

  • 2.6 ounces of butter

  • 1/4 cup of water

  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg

  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

  • Salt to taste

  • Refined oil for frying

Cooking process

  • Сhop the onion and carrot.

  • Pour some vegetable oil into the saucepan. Add the onions and carrots.

  • Add some water.
  • Simmer until the ingredients are soft.
  • Remove the veins from the liver, then rinse it. You can leave it uncut.

  • Put it into the saucepan and simmer it under the lid for 15 minutes.

  • Add some water.

  • Salt it a bit.

  • Continue to simmer it under the lid for another 30 minutes on low heat.

  • Add pepper and nutmeg.

  • Mix everything well.

  • Taste it to see if the salt you put in is enough. If necessary, add some more.

  • Simmer it for another 7 minutes.

  • Put the liver with vegetables into a bowl to prepare it for blending.

  • Mix the ingredients with a hand blender.

  • Add soft butter.

  • Blend the mass again.

  • The pâté is done!

  • Put the pâté into the fridge for a night.

  • Serve it on toast or bread.

  • For a festive dinner, you can make bruschetta with cream cheese, pâté, and pear.
