How to Cook Corn on the Cob
Corn on the cob is the perfect side dish for a barbecue. 5-Minute Crafts will show you 3 ways to cook it correctly, so you will always have an easy and delicious summer dish that only requires the corn on the cob itself, water, butter, salt, and pepper.
The first thing you need to do
Choose the freshest corn on the cob. Try to buy it from farms or local markets. Purchase the ones that have bright green husks that are tightly wrapped around the cob.
Let’s get started. First, peel the corn and clean everything.
Method 1: boiled
Step 1
Add a good quantity of salt to a large stockpot. Don’t be afraid to leave the water salty as it will be responsible for all the flavor in the corn. Bring it to a boil.
Step 2
Once the water is boiling, add the previously peeled corn using tongs.
Step 3
Wait for the water to return to a boil and cook the corn for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Using tongs, remove the corn from the boiling water and put it on a platter.
Step 5
Butter the corn on the cob on top.
Step 6
Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
Method 2: microwaved
Step 1
Wet a paper towel and wring it out.
Step 2
Wrap the corn in the wet paper towel so it steams as it cooks.
Step 3
Put the corn wrapped in the wet towel inside the microwave and let it cook for 5 minutes.
Method 3: oven-roasted
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
Step 2
Put each cob on a piece of aluminum foil.
Step 3
Place butter in the center of each cob. Add salt and pepper.
Step 4
Wrap them.
Step 5
Put them in the oven for about 30 minutes.
Step 6
After 30 minutes, take them out of the oven and let them cool for around 5 minutes before opening them.
