-
a deep plate
-
a fine grater
-
a wide frying pan
-
a tablespoon
-
a spatula
Ingredients
The recipe for 2 portions calls for:
-
5 medium-size potatoes
-
1 egg
-
2 tbsp of flour
-
1/2 tbsp of vegetable oil
-
salt and pepper, to taste
-
sour cream for serving
How to cook it
1. Grate the potatoes using a fine grater.
2. Add flour, an egg, and salt and pepper. Mix well.
3. Pour some vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it up. Carefully place the hash brown batter on the pan with the help of a spoon. Shape them into pancakes. Don’t make them too thick, otherwise, the potatoes may not cook through and will remain raw on the inside.
4. Fry the hash browns on low heat from both sides until they turn a golden brown.
5. Serve with sour cream.
