How to Cook in a Waffle Maker


It’s not only classic Belgian waffles that you can cook with a waffle maker, but also many other sophisticated dishes.

5-Minute Crafts collected 7 interesting recipes for an electric waffle maker — from hearty breakfasts to tasty desserts with ice cream.

1. Waffles with cheese and bacon

  1. Place a ball of ready-made dough onto the waffle maker. Sprinkle it with grated cheddar cheese, onions, and cooked bacon slices.

  2. Sprinkle it again with a second layer of cheddar cheese.

  3. Cover the stuffing with another layer of dough.

  4. Cook for 1-3 minutes depending on the capacity of the waffle maker. Serve with tomato sauce.

2. Sandwich with egg and bacon

  1. Put 2 pieces of toaster-bread, 1 raw egg, and a piece of bacon into the waffle maker.

  2. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  3. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on the piece of cooked toaster bread.

  4. Put the cooked bacon over it.

  5. After that, place the egg and the second slice of toaster bread on top. Your sandwich is ready!

3. Hashbrowns

  1. Grate 2 big potatoes in a deep bowl.

  2. Add one large chicken egg, one small chopped onion, 1 tbsp of flour, and salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Mix the contents of the bowl thoroughly.

  4. Put a small spoonful of the mixture in the waffle maker.

  5. Cook the hashbrowns for 2-3 minutes.

  6. Serve together with fried eggs and leeks.

4. Hot dog

  1. Cut a rectangle out of ready-made dough and place a hot dog on a skewer on it.

  2. Cover the hot dog with a second piece of dough that is cut into the same shape as the first one. Pinch the sides of the dough.

  3. Put the future hot dogs in the waffle maker.

  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes and serve together with ketchup.

5. Chips from mozzarella

  1. Prepare 4 rectangular pieces of mozzarella.

  2. Dip them in flour.

  3. Dip into a mixture of 2 beaten eggs.

  4. Then roll in breadcrumbs.

  5. Place the mozzarella chunks in the waffle maker.

  6. Fry for 2-3 minutes and serve together with tomato sauce.

6. Chocolate waffles with ice cream

  1. Place 2 chicken eggs, a cup of sugar, 80g of melted butter, and a bar of melted dark chocolate in a deep bowl.

  2. Add a tablespoon of brewed coffee and a tablespoon of cocoa powder.

  3. Add a cup of flour.

  4. Thoroughly mix the contents of the bowl.

  5. Pour the dough into the waffle maker.

  6. Cook for 1-3 minutes depending on the capacity of the device. Decorate it with a ball of ice cream and strawberry slices before serving. Additionally, cover it with chocolate sauce and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

7. Ice cream in a waffle cone

  1. Place 3 chicken eggs, 6 tablespoons of sugar, 6–7 tbsp of flour, and 80 g of melted butter in a deep bowl.

  2. Thoroughly mix the contents of the bowl.

  3. Pour the dough into the waffle maker.

  4. Cook for 1-3 minutes depending on the capacity of the device.

  5. After the waffle cools down a bit, roll it into a cone.

6. Place the cone in a glass to make the process of stuffing it more convenient.

7. Place a few scoops of ice cream inside the cone, sprinkle with chopped nuts, cover with chocolate sauce, and garnish with strawberry pieces.
