How to Cook Spaghetti Squash

Spaghetti squash is a healthy alternative to typical spaghetti. It’s delicious and goes well with a lot of seasonings and sauces. 5-Minute Crafts will show you how to cook it in just a few steps.

Note: Make sure that you’re buying the right squash for this recipe — spaghetti squash.

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Cut the squash in half down the middle.

Step 2

Remove the seeds inside with a spoon.

Step 3

Add 1/4 inch of water to a baking tray and put the squash on the tray.

Step 4

Put the squash in the oven and let it roast for around 45 minutes.

Step 5

Once the 45 minutes have passed, take the squash out of the oven and set it aside. Pierce it with a fork down the center to see if it’s ready — if it gives fairly easy, it’s done.

Let it cool for around 10 minutes to a point where you could safely touch the squash — but don’t let it cool completely.

Step 6

Now, put your fork on one of the sides of the squash and twist it. The strands will start to separate. Do this until there’s no spaghetti left inside. You can eat it in a bowl or use the squash skin as a dish.

You can add your favorite seasoning or sauce, and serve.
