How to Make a Mug Brownie in Your Microwave

A brownie in a mug is a tasty and easy dessert. It requires a few ingredients and it only takes slightly more than a minute in the microwave. It’s an ideal recipe when we’re craving something sweet, but don’t have enough time to prepare a more complex dessert. 5-Minute Crafts will show you how to make it.

Ingredients

You’ll need:

  • 2 tbsp of all-purpose flour

  • 3 tbsp of granulated or light-brown sugar

  • 3 tbsp of cocoa powder

  • 2 tbsp of milk or water

  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil

  • ¼ tsp of vanilla extract

  • A pinch of salt

Step 1. Put the dry ingredients in the mug — flour, cocoa, sugar, and salt.

  • If you want to enhance the flavor, add a bit of instant coffee or a pinch of cinnamon.

Step 2. Mix the ingredients until they are well-integrated.

  • Make sure there aren’t any lumps in the mixture. If there still are, use a spoon or fork to dissolve them.

Step 3. Add the liquids — vanilla extract, oil, and milk (or water).

  • Water may be used instead of milk if you want a dairy-free recipe. You can also choose another type of milk, like almond milk.

Step 4. Mix the ingredients until you get a smooth batter.

  • Don’t mix the batter for too long; otherwise, your brownie will end up too soft. The result should be a smooth, thick, and moist mixture. Add more milk or water if it’s too dry.

Step 5. Place the mug in the microwave and heat it at maximum power for approximately one minute

  • The dessert will be done once it’s no longer liquid, but still rather moist.

  • Be careful to not overcook it. If you do, once it’s cooled off, it will be dry and you’ll have to make a new one. Instead, take it out of the microwave sooner rather than later, since it will finish cooking as it cools.

Step 6. Let the brownie cool for one minute. Then take the mug out of the microwave and place it on the counter until it completely cools off. Bon appétit!

  • You can have it alone or with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
