Add-ins
To make your chocolate extra delicious and flavorful, you can use some add-ins:
- Mint: Add a few drops of pure peppermint extract to the melted chocolate mixture.
- Peanut butter: After pouring the melted chocolate into the container or mold, swirl in some melted peanut butter and wait for it to chill together with the chocolate.
- Coconut: Stir in some shredded coconut or sprinkle it on top of the chocolate before it chills.
Bonus: the difference between cocoa and cacao
- Cacao refers to raw cacao beans (not roasted). It is often packaged as vegan chocolate that has been minimally processed and has no additives (contains little or no added sugar).
- Cocoa is made of beans that have been roasted, and it’s a processed chocolate product that often contains added sugar.
But sometimes the use of those 2 words on chocolate products is inconsistent and can vary by brand.
