How to Make Coffee Without a Coffee Machine
You don’t need to buy a coffee machine to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. 5-Minute Crafts will show you 3 easy ways to do it.
1. Using a pan
You will need:
- A saucepan
- Medium-ground or fine-ground coffee
- Some water
- A small ladle
How to make it:
- Add as much water as you’d like to a saucepan (and a few extra tablespoons). Place a pan over medium heat and let the water boil.
- Add medium-ground or fine-ground coffee of your choice to the saucepan (2 tablespoons for every 6 ounces, or 180 ml of water).
- After you put the coffee in water, turn the heat off. The idea is not to boil the coffee grounds but to brew them. Cover the saucepan with a lid and wait for 5 minutes.
- With the help of a small ladle, pour the coffee into a cup, and enjoy.
2. Using a coffee filter
You will need:
- A tall glass
- Medium-ground or fine-ground coffee
- A paper coffee filter
- A rubber band
How to make it:
- Take the paper coffee filter and open it. Place it into a tall glass. Fold the filter around the edges of the glass. Wrap it with a rubber band to secure the filter.
- Prepare some coffee using a pan, as was described earlier. With small gentle pulses, pour the coffee into the filter.
- Let the water get through the filter. Enjoy your coffee.
3. Using a Turkish coffee pot
You will need:
- Cold water — 5-6 ounces
- Extra finely-ground coffee — 2 heaping tablespoons
- Sugar (optional) — 1-3 heaping teaspoons
- A Turkish coffee pot
How to make it:
- Fill the Turkish coffee pot with water. Add coffee and sugar to it. Mix well.
- Place the pot over medium heat. Wait for the coffee to foam up and rise. Don’t let it boil.
- Just before the water starts boiling, take the pot off the heat.
- Slowly pour the coffee into the cups and let it settle for a few minutes. Enjoy.
