How to Make Garlic Bread: 3 Ways
If you’re looking for a delicious and crunchy side dish for your meals and soups, garlic bread is ideal. It’s easy to make and pretty versatile. You can do it with a baguette for an extra crunchy result, or simply with a pan loaf. 5-Minute Crafts will show you 3 different ways of preparing it: one method uses a skillet, in case you don’t have an oven, and the 2 remaining ones use the oven.
1. Fried in a skillet
Ingredients
- 1 baguette
- 2 or 3 tbsp of butter or 1 cup of olive oil
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 2 tbsp of chopped parsley or oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cut the baguette into slices.
- Crush the cloves of garlic with a mortar and pestle.
- Add the butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper to a bowl and mix the ingredients until they are well combined. Alternatively, you can replace the butter and parsley with olive oil and oregano.
- Spread the mixture on both sides of the bread.
- Heat the frying pan over medium heat.
- Put the bread in the frying pan and toast the slices on both sides until they’re golden brown.
2. Baked in the oven
Ingredients
- 1 baguette
- 3 tbsp of butter
- 6 tsp of olive oil
- 2 tsp wine vinegar
- Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Parsley to taste
Instructions
- Cut the baguette into slices.
- Crush the garlic cloves with a mortar and pestle.
- Mix the butter with the oil, add the crushed garlic, vinegar, and parsley in a bowl. Mix until the ingredients are well combined.
- Spread the mixture on both sides of the bread.
- Place the baguette slices on aluminum foil and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Heat the oven to 400ºF (200°C) and bake for 10 minutes.
3. Variation with garlic powder or garlic salt
Ingredients
- 1 baguette
- 3 tbsp of butter
- 1 tsp of olive oil
- Parsley to taste
- 2 tbsp of garlic powder or garlic salt
- Coarse salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cut the baguette into slices.
- Mix the garlic, oil, butter, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the mix on both sides of the baguette slices
- Put the bread on a tray covered with a sheet of parchment paper.
- Heat the oven to 375ºF (180°C).
- Bake for 15 minutes.
