5-Minute Crafts has brought you a simple and easy recipe to try.

Ingredients

For a cake for 15 people, you’ll need:

  • 3 ½ cups of flour without baking powder (sifted)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ⅔ cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 cup of whole or skim milk
  • Juice of one large orange
  • Grated orange zest
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 pinch of salt (optional)

Step 1

  • Before starting, preheat your oven to 180ºC (350ºF).

  • Spread butter on the inside of the mold you’ll be using. Doing that will prevent your cake from sticking at the end when you want to unmold it.

Step 2

  • Mix the flour and baking powder in a big bowl. In this step you can add a pinch of salt if you want to. Then set it aside for later.

Step 3

  • In a separate bowl, break the eggs and add sugar. Beat them until everything is well-combined. You can use a whisk or an electric mixer.

Step 4

  • Add the oil, zest, and orange juice to the same bowl where you beat the eggs. Mix again until well-combined.

Step 5

  • Pour the mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and add the milk gradually. Mix very well, making sure that all the lumps disappear.

Step 6

  • Pour the mixture into the buttered pan and bake it in the oven for about 45 minutes.

Step 7

  • Remove from oven and cover with a clean cloth. Let cool for one hour.
  • Do not remove the cake from the pan while it’s still hot. Otherwise, it might break.

Step 8

  • Once cold, remove the orange cake from the mold and serve.
