
How to Quickly Pickle Onions
Pickling onions adds some extra crunch and taste, and they’re really delicious this way. 5-Minute Crafts will now show you how you can pickle yours at home in just a few minutes.
- Apple cider vinegar
- Salt
- Sugar
- Peppercorns
- A medium red onion
- A pint jar
- A bowl
- A container
- A drainer
Step 1

Add 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar to a container.
Step 2

Add a cup of water to the vinegar.
Step 3

Add 1 teaspoon and a half of salt, a tablespoon of sugar, and half a dozen whole peppercorns to the container.
Step 4

Mix everything together until all the salt and sugar are incorporated into the mixture.
Step 5

Chop your red onion into thin pieces.
Step 6

Put the onion slices in a bowl and add boiling water on top. Let them sit for a minute. You can break the onion up a bit as well.
Step 7

Drain the water out and pack the onions into a pint jar.
Step 8

Pour the liquid you made earlier inside the jar until it’s full.
Step 9

Let the contents inside the jar cool completely. Cover the jar with the lid and put it in the fridge. It can stay in your fridge for a couple of weeks.
