5 Beauty Recipes Using a Cucumber

Lots of fruit and vegetables are rich in vitamins and minerals, which are highly beneficial when used in beauty treatments that we can do at home. Cucumber is one of them — it has refreshing, moisturizing, and anti-inflammatory properties. 5-Minute Crafts will show you the multiple uses that this ingredient can have in your daily routine.

Trick 1: Cucumber reduces swelling after hair removal

  1. Cut a cucumber in 2.

  2. Peel a thin slice.

  3. Place it on the irritated area. Leave it on for a few minutes.

  4. Remove the slice. You can repeat this process as many times as needed until you get the desired effect. Your skin will no longer be irritated.

Trick 2: Fights dandruff

  1. Peel and grate a cucumber.

  2. Add an egg.

  3. Incorporate a tablespoon of salt. Mix thoroughly.

  4. Apply to your scalp. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash your hair as usual. This cucumber mixture helps keep your hair hydrated and fights off dandruff.

Trick 3: Removes dark circles

  1. Cut a slice of cucumber in half.

  2. Place the halves on your dark circles.

Trick 4: Moisturizes dry lips

  1. Cut a thin slice.

  2. Sprinkle some sugar on the sliced cucumber.

  3. Rub it on your lips moving it sideways for a couple of minutes.

Trick 5: Sunburn relief

  1. Peel and slice a cucumber. Put the slices in a food processor or blender.

  2. Add a tablespoon of aloe vera.

  3. Add ½ cup of water.

  4. Pour the liquid into a spray bottle. Spray it on the sunburned skin for 3 days. This will help soothe sunburn pain.

Cucumber chips

  1. Slice one or 2 cucumbers.

  2. Distribute the slices, evenly spaced, on a food dehydrator tray. The air should be able to freely circulate around the slices. Dehydrate them for 6 to 8 hours at 176°F (80°C). If you prefer, you can also bake them.

  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. Enjoy your snack!

Cucumber popsicles

  1. Put a diced cucumber and half a cup of water in a food processor or blender.

  2. Pour in half a cup of lemon or lime juice.

  3. Add a couple of tablespoons of honey or agave syrup.

  4. Blend all ingredients until you get a liquid consistency.

  5. Freeze the mixture in a popsicle mold. You could also add some thin cucumber slices.

  6. You can now enjoy your sugar-free popsicles on hot days.
