7 Natural Methods to Soothe Irritation After Shaving

There are several home remedies that will help you soothe the annoying symptoms produced by folliculitis. This generally happens when hair follicles get infected after shaving. 5-Minute Crafts is offering you some simple tricks to do at home if your skin gets irritated after shaving.

1. Oats + coconut oil

You’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup of rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup of water

  • 1 tbsp of coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Put rolled oats, water, and coconut oil into a bowl.

  2. Mix thoroughly until you get a paste.

  3. Apply to the affected area.

  4. Leave it on for 15 minutes. Wash it off.

2. Coffee + coconut oil

You’ll need:

  • 2 tbsp of brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp of coffee

  • 2 tbsp of coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Put sugar, coffee, and coconut oil into a bowl.

  2. Mix well until you get a lumpy paste.

  3. Apply to the area you wish to treat.

  4. Cover with plastic wrap. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Then wash it off.

3. Aloe vera

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup of aloe vera pulp

Instructions

  1. Put the aloe vera pulp in a straining bag. Squeeze.

  2. Beat with a whisk or a fork until you get a liquid consistency.

  3. Apply to the irritated area and leave it on for a few minutes.

  4. Clean with a dry cloth.

4. Aloe vera + honey

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup of aloe vera pulp

  • 1 tbsp of honey

  • 1 tbsp of coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Put the pulp, honey, and coconut oil into a bowl.

  2. Beat with a fork until it’s liquid and well-mixed.

  3. Using a cloth or cotton pad, apply the mixture to the affected area.

  4. Wait for 10 minutes. Wash it off.

5. Cucumber

You’ll need:

  • Slices of fresh cucumber

Instructions

  1. Cut as many cucumber slices as you need.

  2. Apply gently to irritated skin in a circular motion. Wash it off.

6. Frozen tea bag

You’ll need:

  • Tea bags

Instructions

  1. Make tea. Then remove the bag and freeze it for a few minutes.

  2. Take it out of the freezer. It shouldn’t be so cold that it might burn your hand.

  3. Rub the bag onto the irritated skin. Wait for 10 minutes before washing it off.

7. Black tea + vinegar

You’ll need:

  • Hot black tea

  • 2 tbsp of white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Pour the vinegar into a cup of hot tea. Let it cool off a bit for a couple of minutes.

  2. Apply the wet tea bag to the irritated area.
