How to Make Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is a great alternative for those days when you have no time to wash your hair. 5-Minute Crafts will show you how to make your own natural dry shampoo with ingredients you have in your pantry.

Ingredients

  • 1 1⁄4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • Cocoa powder to suit your hair color
  • 15 drops peppermint essential oil

Note: Only use dry shampoo once or twice a week.

Step 1

Add 1 1⁄4 cup of cornstarch to a bowl. Cornstarch helps draw out the oils from your hair.

Step 2

Add 1 tbsp of baking soda. This will help neutralize the odors coming out of your hair. Baking soda also has great cleansing properties.

Step 3

If you’re a brunette or have slightly darker hair, adding cocoa powder is a good option. Add cocoa powder until it matches your hair color.

Step 4

Peppermint oil is also a good option to add to your mixture. Pour around 15 drops to help stimulate your scalp and make your hair feel fresh.

Step 5

With the help of a whisk, blend all the ingredients. Make sure there are no lumps.

Step 6

Put the mixture in a container and store it.
