How to Paint Your Hair With Crepe Paper
If you’ve decided to dye your hair a different and unique tone, you can try doing it with the crepe paper technique, which comes in countless colors. Doing it this way, you won’t damage your hair or spend a lot of money. Depending on your hair type and how often you wash your hair, the color will last for around a week. With a turnaround time like this, you can change your appearance with different hues as often as you’d like.
5-Minute Crafts will show you a step-by-step method to paint your hair with crepe paper.
What you’ll need
-
4 cups (1 liter) of water
-
1 pot
-
1 tablespoon of salt
-
Strips of crepe paper in the color of your choice
-
1 medium bowl
-
A pair of scissors
Instructions
Step 1. Pour the water into the pot and place it on the stove. Bring it to a boil, then pour the water into the bowl.
Step 2. Cut the crepe paper strips into small pieces and add them to the container. Add salt and mix it together with a spoon to allow the color to come off.
Step 3. Let the mixture sit for about 10 to 15 minutes. Stir, making sure to squeeze the paper and extract as much dye as possible. It will stay in the water.
Step 4. Put a strand of hair (or however much of your hair you want to dye) into the container for 10 minutes.
Step 5. Remove your hair from the bowl, rinse with cold water, and pat dry. Remember that the color is temporary, so at first, the tone will be vibrant, and days after, it will decrease in intensity.
