How to Reduce Cellulite

Cellulite is the dimpled-looking skin that appears when the fatty tissue pushes up against connective tissue in the areas on your thighs, bottom, and belly. 5-Minute Crafts will show you some effective ways to make it less noticeable.

This article is for informative purposes only. Please consult your doctor beforehand to decide which method is best for you.

1. Try dry brushing.

Why it works:

✅ It effectively opens up the pores on your skin and promotes tighter, smoother skin and cell renewal.

✅ It stimulates blood and lymph flow in your body.

✅ It helps to eliminate toxins that accumulate in the fat layer under your skin.

How to do it:

  • Take a wooden brush made of natural, semi-firm bristles with a handle.
  • Choose a moment when your skin is dry. The ideal time would be right before a shower.
  • Start by brushing the bottoms of your feet with long, smooth strokes.
  • Then move up your legs on both sides.
  • Continue by working on your arms, from the palms of your hands to the shoulders.
  • Always brush using upward strokes toward the center of your body.
  • Brush your stomach in a circular counterclockwise motion.
  • Brush each section of your skin 10 times.
  • Repeat daily.

Warning:

⛔ Don’t brush too hard. Your skin should be slightly stimulated until it becomes pink, but it should never become red or irritated.

2. Do leg exercises.

Why it works:

✅ It can make your skin look smoother and firmer and your cellulite less noticeable.

How to do it:

Squats:

  • Stand on the floor with your spine straight, your feet more than hip-width apart, and your toes slightly turned outward.
  • Keeping your back and head straight, slowly lower your hips until your thighs are parallel with the floor as if you’re trying to sit down in an invisible chair.
  • Make sure that your knees are above your second toe.
  • Keeping your back and head straight and pushing through your heels, rise to the initial position.
  • Do 3 sets of 12-15 squats.

Step-ups:

  • Stand in front of a bench.
  • Step up on the bench with one foot.
  • Then stand up on the bench with your other foot.
  • Step back down in the same pattern.
  • Repeat 12-15 times.

Kickbacks:

  • Stand on the floor in an all-fours position.
  • Engaging your glutes and upper thighs, kick one leg back behind you.
  • Then lower your leg and repeat with the other one.
  • Repeat the exercise 12-15 times with each leg.

3. Apply a coffee scrub.

Why it works:

✅ It exfoliates your skin and makes it look tighter.

✅ It stimulates blood and lymph flow in your body.

✅ It dehydrates fat cells in your body, making your cellulite look less obvious.

How to do it:

  • Take 1/4 cup of coffee grounds, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and 2-3 tablespoons of melted coconut oil.
  • Mix the ingredients together to make a paste.
  • Massage the paste into your skin for several minutes, applying firm pressure.
  • Then wash the scrub away.
  • Use the scrub 2-3 times a week.

4. Use a self-tanner.

Why it works:

✅ It makes your skin look darker, and as a rule, cellulite is less noticeable on darker skin.

How to do it:

  • Exfoliate your skin with a gentle body scrub.
  • Then apply a self-tanning lotion to the areas where you have cellulite.
  • Finish by spritzing your entire body with a tanning spray.

Warning:

⛔ It’s better not to choose a real tanning method as it can damage your skin and make your cellulite look worse.
