How to Reduce Crow’s Feet
Crow’s feet, which are those small wrinkles at the outer corners of your eyes, occur when the skin in this area loses its elasticity and natural oils. This happens naturally as you age, mostly due to the motion of smiling and squinting. 5-Minute Crafts is ready to show you some ways to reduce the appearance of these wrinkles.
❗ Always consult your dermatologist before trying any skin remedies at home.
1. Moisturize your skin.
✅ Apply a moisturizing eye cream 2 times a day — once in the morning before applying makeup and again at night before going to bed.
✅ Choose eye creams that contain ingredients like niacinamide, collagen, vitamin C, retinol, hyaluronic acid, and peptides.
2. Keep your body hydrated.
✅ Drink at least 6 tall glasses of water every day.
✅ If you drink coffee often, increase your water consumption even more because coffee can lead to water loss in your body.
3. Protect yourself from the sun.
✅ Always wear sunscreen with SPF 30+ outside, and protect your skin with a hat.
✅ Wear sunglasses that filter UV light.
⛔ Don’t use sunglasses with mirrored lenses as they only attract more sunlight and can bring more damage to your skin.
4. Change your sleep position.
✅ Try to sleep on your back to prevent your skin from pulling on the pillowcase.
✅ Use a silk pillowcase as your skin can slide more easily on this material.
5. Make an egg white mask.
✅ Whip an egg white until it becomes frothy, then apply it to your face. Let it dry, then apply a second layer. Keep the mask on for 15 minutes, then wash it off with soap and water. Repeat this a few times a week to tighten and hydrate your skin.
6. Apply cucumber slices.
✅ Cut out 2 thin slices of cucumber, then lay down and place one slice over each eye. Leave them on top of your eyes for about 10 minutes.
7. Use makeup correctly.
✅ Choose a silicone-based primer to fill in the wrinkles and create a smoother appearance.
✅ Apply foundation with a damp sponge and blend it well to get light coverage.
⛔ Don’t use too much concealer and foundation since heavy makeup can make your wrinkles more pronounced.
⛔ Don’t apply loose powder on your crow’s feet as it can also intensify them.
