How to Use a Cleansing Oil

Nowadays, there are tons of products to choose from when it comes to cleansers, cleansing oils being one of them. They are a great way to easily remove makeup, sunscreen, and sebum. There can be some confusion around how to use them though.

That’s why 5-Minute Crafts created a step-by-step guide to show you how to oil cleanse and avoid any mistakes.

Step 1

Firstly, cleansing oils can be used on damp or dry skin — it just depends on the product. Either way, grab your product and dispense a small amount onto your hands.

Step 2

Gently massage the oil to dissolve all the makeup, sunscreen, and excess sebum. If you’re wearing any eye makeup, feel free to massage the cleansing oil in that area too.

Step 3

Then, emulsify. After massaging the oil and dissolving all the makeup, wet your hands and continue massaging your skin to emulsify the cleansing oil. You’ll notice the oil begin to turn a milky white color. This is what removes the oily residue from the skin.

Step 4

Lastly, after emulsifying, rinse away the residue thoroughly and pat the skin dry with a clean, soft towel.

Your skin is now cleansed and ready for the next steps in your skincare routine!
