8 Low-budget ideas to give your room a fresh new look

Transforming your bedroom into a vibrant and exciting space doesn’t require a complete overhaul or a hefty budget. Whether you’re tired of the same old look or simply yearning for a fresh, fun atmosphere, redecorating your bedroom can be a fulfilling and creative endeavor. 1. Basketball spot

Things you’ll need:

  • A square cardboard
  • White and red masking tape
  • Yellow duct tape
  • A hot glue gun
  • A bucket
  • A basketball net made of laces

How to do it:

  • Cover the cardboard with white tape
  • Stick the red tape to it, making the basketball hoop board shape
  • Cut the top ring off the bucket
  • Cover the ring with yellow tape
  • Glue the net to the inside of the ring
  • Stick the ring to the hoop board and place the board on a wall

2. Bright star photoframe

Things you’ll need:

  • RBG Tape
  • Cotton
  • Spray glue
  • A frame with your favorite picture

How to do it:

  • Stick the tape to the wall, making the shape of a star
  • Spray glue on the cotton and cover the tape with it
  • Place your picture in the middle of the star

3. From a crib to a teepee

Things you’ll need:

  • A rope
  • A blanket and your preferred decorative cushions
  • A string lighting

How to do it:

  • Remove the crib rails
  • Place them vertically and make a triangle with them
  • Adjust them together with the rope
  • Cover the triangle with a blanket
  • Put your preferred cushions and stuffed animals inside
  • Put the string lighting around the teepee, to decorate

4. Spinning car track

Things you’ll need:

  • A hose reel
  • Cardboard
  • Paint
  • A cutter

How to do it:

  • Place the reel vertically and remove the top wheel
  • Insert a cardboard through the cylinder and cover the bottom wheel
  • Cover the cylinder with cardboard
  • Put the top wheel back on the reel and make a hole on it
  • Cover the top wheel with cardboard, leaving the same hole you made to the wheel
  • Cover the rest of the reel with cardboard
  • Paint the cardboard with colors that simulate a road
  • Make a slide with cardboard and put it on the inside of the reel, coming out of the hole you made on top

5. Hanging balloon lamp

Things you’ll need:

  • A balloon
  • White and red paint
  • Napkins
  • A net and a rope
  • A small colorful banner
  • A light string
  • A small basket

How to do it:

  • Blow the balloon up and place it on a bowl
  • Pour the white paint over the balloon until you cover it all
  • Glue napkins on the balloon with the paint still wet
  • Put another coat of white paint on it
  • Paint red stripes and let it dry
  • Flip the balloon and cut the top of it to take it out if the painted structure
  • Put the light string inside
  • Put the net on top, cutting it to the middle
  • Join it with the basket, using the rope and hang it

6. Maze mat

Things you’ll need:

  • Masking tape
  • A razor
  • A foam brush and your preferred paint color

How to do it:

  • Put tape on the mat, creating a maze path
  • Pass the razor over the places where there is no tape
  • Cover the shaved spaces with paint

7. Tabletop football

Things you’ll need:

  • A shoebox
  • A cutter
  • An awl
  • Wooden sticks
  • Cloth pins
  • A ping pong ball

How to do it:

  • Make a square hole on each end of the box, for the arches
  • Using the awl, make parallel holes on the sides of the box
  • Insert a wooden stick through the holes, from side to side
  • Attach the pins to the sticks, for the players and drop the ball on the field

8. Upgrade your plain mirror

For this craft, you’ll just need pompoms and a hot glue gun:

  • Stick pompoms of various colors to the frame of the mirror, until you cover it all
