5 Ways to Unclog a Toilet
A clogged toilet is something each of us has faced at least once, so everyone can imagine just how annoying it is. 5-Minute Crafts has 5 simple methods to help you get rid of this problem easily.
Method 1: Plunger
This is the first thing you need to try and a plunger works in 90% of the cases. All you need to do is push in and out. Your first plunge should be gentle and then do the rest vigorously.
Method 2: Dish soap
In case the plunger didn’t work or if you don’t have one at home, dish soap is the first thing to try. Add a half-cup of dish soap to the toilet so it lubricates everything and makes it easier to unclog. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes. If you feel that the dish soap alone didn’t do anything, add some hot bathwater.
Method 3: Baking soda and vinegar
This method can be very useful as well. Pour 1 cup of baking soda and 2 cups of vinegar into the toilet and wait half an hour for it to fizz. Add some hot bath water as well, if it doesn’t work perfectly.
Method 4: Plastic water bottle
This is another of your options if you don’t have a plunger. Remove as much water as you can with a bowl. Then fill a plastic bottle with warm water. Place your thumb on top of the bottle so the water doesn’t come out. Put the top end of the bottle into the toilet at the bottom and release the water inside the bottle. Squeeze the bottle as well and make sure to wear rubber gloves for this.
Method 5: Plastic wrap
For using this method you need to make sure the plastic wrap is good quality. Wrap the plastic wrap around the toilet, blocking the air. Push on the plastic wrap to allow the air underneath to push the water down. Flush the toilet and repeat the process.
