How to Pack a Backpack
Camping can be really fun, but packing can be a nightmare if not done properly. 5-Minute Crafts has a few tips to help you organize everything inside your hiking backpack.
1. Bottom-of-backpack
The first things that you should pack should be placed in the bottom zone of the bag. These should be items that you won’t need before camping. These include a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad, and any extra layers.
2. Core-of-backpack (back)
This is where you should store your heaviest items like a tent, cookware, food, and other heavy camping supplies.
3. Core-of-backpack (front)
In this section you should keep the lightest items like towels, pillows, and other lightweight clothing.
4. Top-of-backpack
Save this space for medium items/essentials that you’ll need more urgently like toilet supplies, rain jackets, first-aid kits, and a water filter and purifier.
5. Accessory pockets
These pockets should be used to organize smaller essentials like: maps, a compass, GPS, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottles, an ID, and a wallet.
