10 Valuable hacks for pet owners
Our pets may not have a voice, but their happiness resonates in every wag of the tail and purr of contentment. Since they hold a special place in our hearts, and it’s only natural that we want to see them happy and thriving. That’s why we’ve put together ingenious hacks that cater to their needs and desires, to not only put a smile on their faces, but also deepen the connection between you and your beloved companions.
1. Handy cat
- Use a laser pointer to get your cat’s attention.
- Direct the laser to light switch and guide your cat towards it too.
- When your cat gets there, they’ll push the switch for you.
2. Yummy grooming
- Put a shower cap on your head and spread some dog pâté over it.
- Bring your dog closer to your head.
- While they eat the pâte, you can easily trim their nails.
3. Keep your dog inside
Insert a kitchen wooden spoon horizontally across your dog’s harness. That, should stop them from escaping through the holes of your backyard’s fence.
4. Track your cat
- Put a harness on your cat and attach a phone holder to the front.
- Place your phone with the camera facing front.
- Start filming your cat’s track around the house.
5. DIY pet tag
Things you’ll need:
- Nonstick paper
- Hot glue
- Rolling pin
- Your pet’s contact information printed on a small paper piece
How to do it:
- Put some glue over the piece of nonstick paper
- Place the paper with your pet’s information, over it
- Cover it with hot glue and put another piece of nonstick paper on that
- Push a rolling pin over it, to make it completely flat
- Cut the excess glue around the tag, when it’s dry
6. Shower your dog easily
Things you’ll need
- A hula-hoop
- A hot awl
- A hose
How to do it
- Make holes to the inside of the hula-hoop, using the awl
- Connect the hula-hoop to a hose
- Make your pet go through the hoop to get it wet.
7. Scratcher for your cat
Things you’ll need
- An empty bucket with lid
- Sisal rope
- A hot glue gun
How to do it
- Stick the sisal rope around the bucket, spiraling it from the bottom to the top
- Repeat with the lid of the bucket
8. Collar with no drama
- Wrap the collar and attach the two ends together
- Place it on the floor with the wider part facing down
- Put a pet treat inside it, so your pet brings their head inside to grab it
9. Anti-stress treats
- Extend a hands towel on the floor and put several dog treats on it in a zigzag pattern.
- Roll in the towel with the treats inside and leaving a few inches unrolled at the end.
- Your dog will have to unroll the towel with their nose, to get the treats.
10. Recycled sandbox shovel
Things you’ll need
- A plastic bottle with a handle
- A cutter
How to make it
- Grab the bottle and slice the handle off from top to bottom
- Use that as a shovel to clean your cat’s sandbox
