How to Make a House and a Bed for a Cat With Your Own Hands
Cats sleep for an average of 15 hours a day, and some of them can do it for 20 hours. So it’s no surprise that pet owners want to create suitable sleeping conditions for their four-legged family members. Of course, pets will always find a place where they can spread out their fluffy body, but it’s still better if they have their own personal corner.
5-Minute Crafts will show how to quickly and easily make houses and beds for cats.
1. A house tent
What you’ll need:
- Cardboard for the base of the tent
- 2 metal hangers
- Pliers
- An awl
- Hot glue or tape
- A T-shirt
How to do it:
- Use pliers to cut off the base of the hangers.
- Bend the cut pieces to form arcs.
- Use an awl to make holes in the corners of the cardboard.
- Insert the ends of the arcs into the holes, placing the metal bases diagonally. Secure the arcs together at the top. Use tape or hot glue to do this.
- Put a T-shirt on the future tent so the neckline is on its side. Wrap the sleeves inward. Glue the fabric to the cardboard.
2. A bed from an old sweater
What you’ll need:
- A sweater
- A thread with a needle
- Padding made of polyester
- Scissors
How to do it:
- Sew the sweater along the line from one armpit across the chest to the other armpit.
- Fill the “shoulders” and “chest” with padding.
- Do the same with the “body.”
- Tuck one sleeve into the other.
- Sew the neck, base, and sleeves shut.
3. A house from a box and a T-shirt
What you’ll need:
- A box
- A T-shirt
- Clips
- Patterns for decoration
How to do it:
- Put a T-shirt over the box. The neck should be on top.
- Turn the box over so that the neck is on the side. Tuck the sleeves in.
- Secure the base of the T-shirt together at the back of the box — the top part should be secured with the bottom part and one side with the other side. Use a clip for this.
- Use your imagination and decorate the entrance to the house with patterns or other trinkets.
4. A lounger bed made of jeans
What you’ll need:
- Old jeans
- A belt
- Old things you don’t need (holey socks, worn-out T-shirts, etc.)
- A thread with a needle
- Scissors
How to do it:
- Start filling your jeans with old clothes. Before doing this, sew up the legs so that nothing falls out.
- When you’re done filling the jeans, place the bigger clothes in the top part of the jeans. Pull the belt tightly around the waistband.
- Bend one knee inward. Take the other knee and put it under the opposite thigh. You should get a lotus pose as a result. Put the bed in a place where your pet can rest on it.
