How to Clean Your Smart TV
Many of us like to watch TV in order to relax and enjoy ourselves at the end of the day or during the weekend. A big TV is great to watch your favorite series or movies on, but the bigger it is, the more you can spot when the screen is dirty. To get the most out of its sharpness, it’s essential to keep your screen spotless.
5-Minute Crafts will show you how to properly clean your smart TV screen and keep it free of dust and fingerprints.
1. Turn off and disconnect the device.
Before you start cleaning any appliance, be it your smart TV, a console, or even just your phone, you should always turn it off and make sure that the main power cable is disconnected. By doing this, you can avoid a dangerous incident from occurring, such as a short circuit or a fire, which could happen if the device is still on while you clean it with a bit of water, for instance.
2. Remove the dust around and behind the screen.
✅ Use a microfiber duster to dust off the TV frame. Make sure to clean the corners and all the parts where dust can accumulate.
✅ To prevent dirt from accumulating on the back of the appliance, use a handheld vacuum cleaner to vacuum the ventilation openings or vents. It’s recommended to do this at least once a month to keep the TV functioning at its best at all times.
3. Wipe the surface of the screen until it’s clean.
⛔ Never apply or spray any cleaning agents directly on the surface of the display. This may discolor or damage its structure and function.
✅ You can now remove any dirt or dust on the display of the appliance using a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
⛔ When wiping the surface of the TV, don’t exert too much pressure on the screen or you might damage it. Always make sure that the movement and action of your hand on the screen is gentle and smooth to avoid scratching or even breaking the screen.
✅ To get rid of fingerprints or grease stains on the screen, simply mix water and white vinegar in equal parts in a small bowl. Dampen a cloth with the solution, or even better, just spray it over the cloth, and gently wipe the screen. When finished, use a dry cloth to dry the surface.
A few tips you might want to take into account:
⛔ Don’t use chemicals containing ammoniac substances, such as bleach, wax, glass cleaner, alcohol, or acetone, to clean any electronic appliance, especially TV screens. This could damage the appearance or surface of the product and cause important serial labels and appliance indications to peel off.
✅ It’s recommended that you read the user manual of your TV before cleaning it. Each manufacturer will recommend the best practices to clean it and keep the product’s screen spotless.
