10 Things You Wish You Knew Before You Reached Your Thirties
There are so many life hacks presented on the Internet that make our lives easier. And sometimes, it’s easy to assume that things would’ve been so much better if we had known them before.
5-Minute Crafts has compiled a few exceptional tricks for you since it’s never too late to discover such nifty tips.
1. Travel pillows go in front, not back.
2. The sun visors in the car can be easily extended.
All you have to do is pull the car visor down, drag it to the window side, and then pull it forward.
3. Pour hot grease into the sink by lining it with aluminum foil.
4. Hold your hairbrush vertically instead of horizontally. It helps in detangling hair with ease.
5. Similarly, brush your teeth vertically instead of horizontally.
You can also go for circular strokes. Vertical and/or circular strokes help to remove plaque efficiently by getting into the crevices of the teeth. Also, be sure to clean the inside, outside, chewing surfaces, and gums.
6. You can reheat a pizza on the stove.
There are commonly 2 ways to reheat pizza — in a microwave or in an oven. But you can use a stove as well to have a fresher-tasting pizza slice. Simply follow these steps:
- Place the pizza on the pan on medium heat. Check to see when the pizza becomes crunchy, then turn the stove to low. Now add 2-3 drops of water to the corners of the pan in a way that it doesn’t touch the pizza slice.
- Cover the pan with a lid or aluminum foil. This helps to regain the softness of the top layer while ensuring the cheese stays soft and stretchable. Wait for 1-3 minutes, and your reheated pizza is ready. It will taste as if it was baked fresh from the oven.
7. Don’t shake the seasoning shaker, just hold and twist it.
8. You can’t spill the mug while walking if you put a spoon in it.
9. Don’t throw your broom away yet — trim it instead.
Instead of dumping your broom, you can groom the bristles. Wash them with some dish soap and water, let them dry, and then, with the help of kitchen utility scissors, trim the bristles off, one section at a time. Think of the frayed bristles as more like split ends. Just cut past the frayed ends, probably an inch or so, depending on your broom. Ensure that you’re chopping away even parts from each section of bristles. This way, the angled edge of your broom will stay intact as well.
