How to Make Your Eyes Look Bigger
Changing how your face looks is part of the fun of using makeup. Making your jaw sharper, your lips more defined, and your eyes look bigger, are just a few examples. With that in mind, 5-Minute Crafts created a step-by-step guide on how to achieve big and bright eyes using certain makeup techniques.
Step 1
Before makeup, use a hydrating eye cream. This will help ensure the skin is moisturized and ready for concealer. Furthermore, some eye creams can aid in making the under-eye area look more bright and glowy.
Step 2
Now, cover up any dark circles. These can make your whole eye area look darker, and therefore, smaller. Look for a concealer with good coverage and try to apply it in an inverted triangle shape for additional brightness.
Step 3
To make your eye and eyelid look more open, blend some eyeshadow close to the brow bone. This trick is especially useful if you have hooded eyes.
Step 4
The colors of the eyeshadows you use can have a big impact on how small or big your eyes look. Try to look for light pastel shimmery shades and apply them to the middle of your eyelid area to make your eyes pop and look brighter overall.
Step 5
Using a white or nude eye pencil on the upper and lower waterline is the key to making your eyes look much bigger and wider. Applying black or dark-brown liner will, of course, have the opposite effect.
Step 6
For even more brightness, add a shimmer or even a tiny bit of highlighter to the inner corners and brow bone. This step is key because it creates dimension and will really make your eyes look awake.
Step 7
Finally, the lashes — this step can truly make a difference. Use an eyelash curler first, then a curling mascara on both the upper and lower lashes to lengthen and define them. False lashes are optional.
Step 8
Don’t forget your brows too. Creating an arched shape can frame the eye area and make it look bigger and more open. Use a brow gel to keep everything in place while you go about your day.
