Method #1: Blanch and cool down
-
Take a knife and cut an X-shape in the bottom part of the tomato.
-
Fill a bowl with cold water, add several ice cubes, and set aside.
-
Put a pot with water on the stove and bring it to a boil.
-
Carefully lower the tomato into the boiling water for 30 seconds or more until its skin becomes soft.
-
Take the tomato out of the pot and place it into the bowl with icy water. Leave it there for 5 minutes.
-
When the tomato cools down, take it out of the water and remove the skin.
Method #2: Heat it up over fire.

Pierce the tomato in the middle with a fork and hold it over a burning stove. Keep it 2-4 inches from the fire. Be careful not to burn yourself.
-
Slowly rotate the tomato, turning the fork and exposing different sides of the tomato to the fire.
-
When the skin becomes soft enough, carefully pry it off with your finger and remove the peel.
Method #3: Put it in the microwave.
