Halle Berry said in one of her interviews that she wasn’t so into acting when she was a young girl. She discovered her passion for the stage somewhat by accident. When she was 18 years old and living in Chicago, Halle worked as a model. Since she would often find herself bored on the weekends, so she decided to start taking acting classes to keep herself occupied.

It was her teacher who encouraged her to study acting seriously since she believed Halle had a talent for it. Berry then decided to move to New York and pursue her acting career. However, she would soon learn that New York is a pricy place to live in as she was evicted from her apartment and ended up in a homeless shelter. Halle said that at that point, she was sure she would find a way to figure things out and that giving up was never an option. That was proven to be accurate as she’s become one of the most successful actresses and has won both a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. An interesting fact about Halle is that she played a homeless woman in the movie Jungle Fever.
