9 Easy Ways to Ask Someone If They Like You Without Embarrassing Yourself

Hanging out with certain people on a consistent basis can cause us to feel attached to them. We might feel that there is a different kind of energy and bond with them, but before going deep with the connection, it’s better to know where the borders with that person are if we don’t want to lose them.

5-Minute Crafts gathered some tips on how to ask someone if they like you.

Ask direct questions.

You may have a good relationship with a person, and they still might not know how you feel if you don’t express your feelings directly and properly. When you want to learn something about them, the best way to find out is to ask straightforward questions. Before asking, try to have an idea of what you want to say and keep it simple.

Tell them what your intentions are.

Before asking the person if they are interested in you, let them know whether you like them as a friend or in a romantic way. Always be kind and honest with them, no matter what you say. Be aware that rejection is a possibility in cases when you ask someone to hang out with you. If you don’t know the person very well, it can be easier not to express why or how much you want to spend time with them.

Call them on the phone.

The best way to check on someone nowadays is to make a call. Let them know that you are going to call them. Shoot your shot and find the perfect timing for you to call. You can start the call by sharing things about yourself and what you both like, but be sure not to monopolize the call; give them space to talk about themselves. Don’t be scared to share your thoughts about them and drop hints that you like the person you are talking to.

Send them a message.

If you don’t feel confident enough to call through a phone or talk face to face, try sending them a message. This way, you will avoid leaving the wrong impression when running out of words. With text messages, you will have time to rethink what you want to talk about. The other person won’t feel pressured to answer right away, giving them some time to think about the answer.

Be careful how you approach text messages because your crush can easily misjudge you because they see only the text, no emotions or intonations of the voice behind it.

Share a meaningfull meme or GIF while texting.

Starting a conversation nowadays is made easier and simpler by the use of sharing memes or photos of each other. Pictures keep the mood up and open doors for different topics. Try sending meaningful memes or GIFs to the person you like, and see how they react. Depending on the conversation at the moment, start by asking more straightforward questions through memes or pictures, or start describing how you feel.

Ask them out for coffee.

If you’ve known your crush for a little while and want to learn more about them, be confident and ask them out for an informal date, like for a cup of coffee. Be prepared, so if they ask, you can explain the benefits of going out on a coffee date with you. You might say, “I know a coffee place down the street with great cappuccinos and pastries.” If they respond positively, invite them and then take them out for a treat.

This way, the other person will probably want to return the favor, which gives you another coffee date and more time to learn and think about your relationship.

Ask them through a song.

Confess how you feel about them with a song. Choose a song that describes how you feel about your love interest and send it to them. Ask them to listen to the song and tell you what they think about it. By their reply, you’ll be able to decide whether they liked it or not and how they reacted when you first sent it to them. This is an excellent approach if you don’t have words to express your feelings.

Ask a friend for help.

If you don’t feel confident enough to ask yourself, try to find a mutual friend of yours that can help you. They may arrange a personal intro and introduce you to the person.

Watch their behavior, and if you think they like you, tell them that you’ve noticed.

When you want to find out if someone likes you, give priority to your observations. Focus on the certain behaviors that made you believe they may like you. If that person is showing an interest in you, you may see them display open and forward body language, try to find a way to touch you, and enjoy introducing you to their friends and family.

Have you tried any of the aforementioned methods before? Which one worked best for you?
